We have openings in our transcription department for both Corporate
and Legal transcriptionists. You MUST be
a U.S. citizen residing in the U.S. Most
corporate positions are same day turnaround for the work. Legal generally has a 3-5 day turnaround. Corporate uses MS Word and requires
proficiency with that program. Legal, depending on the client uses either Word
Perfect or MS Word.
All positions require that you have or be willing to obtain
a digital foot pedal. Using a pedal
enables you to work up to four times as fast as a typist without a pedal. This allows you to be offered more work.
Those who work on the Social Security and/or Immigration
accounts will be required to complete a full background check and finger
printing as required by DOJ (Not required for general legal work.) Legal pays between .75/page to $1.75/page
depending on the client, the type of work and the turnaround time.
Corporate ranges from a low of .40/audio min. to a high of
1.00/audio min. depending on the client you are working with and your level of
speed, accuracy and turnaround time. The
lower range of the scale takes into consideration your work will be proofed for
accuracy. The upper range of the scale
will be given to those not requiring any proofing with 99% accuracy.
Pay per audio minutes is determined by how many minutes of
audio you transcribe and is NOT dependent on how long it takes you to do the
work. Pay per page is determined on how
many finished pages you have transcribed and not on how long it takes you to do
the work. We do not offer computer
support for installing and/or running programs. Not all foot pedals work with The Record
Player or Start Stop.

These positions are Independent Contractor Positions. We do not withhold taxes and you will not be eligible for unemployment
benefits if you stop working. You will
need to sign an independent contractor agreement as well as a W-9. We do not provide Workmen’s Compensation
Insurance.
As an independent contractor
you work when you want to, provided work is available, although those
transcribers that do not accept work on a regular basis generally do not
maintain a skill set that meets the needs of our clients. We do not allow subcontracting of our work. If you accept work, you must do it yourself. Any IC found to sub work out will have their
contract terminated.
We will test all
applicants. There is no charge for
